the town of FIGUIG is located at the south-east of Morocco at the edge of the Maroco-Algerian border. Moved away from the town of OUJDA of almost 384 km and from the town of Bani-Ouanif (Algeria) of 8 km, Figuig shelters a strategic and, more still, very significant border area thus between Morocco and Algeria

Mountains
The agglomeration of FIGUIG forms part structurally of the large mountainous solid mass of Morocco: the HIGH ATLAS; and more precisely with dimensions EAST. What explains the presence of several mountains at this place. These mountains form a kind of natural barrier surrounding the town of Figuig, and play a quite precise part in the survival of the city. Figuig, according to specialists' in the geological investigations, benefitted great from these mountains. Cavity, because certain underground galleries are regarded as a large rain water tank, including an important sheet of water which rises from the mountainous chain quoted above (HIGH ATLAS). Of another dimensioned, these mountains prevent the sanding of the oasis.
